In San Francisco, you deal with earthquakes. In Detroit, you deal with blizzards. But in Vegas, you deal with monsoons. I got my first emergency alert last night. It was the first time the alert had ever included the words ‘life-threatening’.
It began with what appeared to be fog on the mountains. It turned into a river unleashed. When they tell you to get off the roads, they mean it. The water was powerful enough to literally move my car off the road. I’m grateful to be at this age, and still be awestruck by the sheer, destructive force of nature.
Anyway, having sampled everything between Vegas and Henderson, I’m finally settling back into work. I will write two short stories this week. Then, in August, I’m going to complete the entire first draft to my thriller fantasy Era of the Scourge: The Last Fire. Did you know I got into the notebook business and started a KoFi? If you’ve got a KoFi or Patreon, please feel free to comment and link to it. I’d love to build a support network.
In the meantime, hope you have a great week. Here’s the news to get you going.
