It’s almost impossible to fully appreciate the range of Giancarlo Esposito. He slips with seeming effortlessness from role to role, getting lost in each character he portrays and selling us completely on his endeavor. Whether it’s a major part like Breaking Bad’s Gus Fring or minor roles like CSI Miami’s Chief Braga, the man can do anything. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention his turn in the Mandalorian’s Moff Gideon.

The Far Cry franchise has always been known for its vivid and charismatic antagonists. Far Cry 6 looks to up the ante by casting the ranges actor in the role of Anton Castillo, the brutal (and man, do I mean brutal) dictator of the fictional Yara Island.

The new Ganescom trailer gives the character more depth. This reveal is harrowing: he used to be one of the people he’s oppressing.

Oh, and I’m sure whatever his scientists are working on won’t come back to bite us at any point during the game.
