This according to Gameradar. Though Midnight Suns will largely follow the turn-based strategy formula that made the X-Com reboot a hit, there will be at least one divergence.
In the central hub area known as “The Abbey”, Midnight Suns will switch to a third-person, over the shoulder viewpont more traditionally used in action games. Additionally, the game will enhance X-Com’s bonding feature, allowing your characters to develop deeper connections.

I imagine it would be fun to re-create the Dr. Strage/Tony Stark dynamic we got in Infinity War, but I wonder how the switch in gameplay will work. Action and strategy don’t usually work well together, but Firaxis has a great track record. I’m willing to wait and see.
