I’m seriously starting to doubt that Tom Cruise is human. With his reticence to use CGI and willingness to risk his life to nail the action, you have to wonder if the man either cannot be harmed or is just plain insane.
Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One reads like the first of a two-part finale for Tom Cruise’s long-running spy thriller series. The trailer starts with the return of Eugene Kittridge (Henry Czerny, introduced in Mission Impossible and not seen since) in an ambiguous role. He appears to be warning Ethan that (once again) the balance of power is about to change across the globe, and IMF’s top field officer needs to pick a side. Beyond that, it’s off to the races. We catch glimpses of Esai Morales in a supposed antagonist role, facing off against Illsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) and later Tom Cruise atop a high-speed train. Simon Pegg are confirmed to return.
Then, of course, the trailer ends with Tom Cruise taking a motorcycle off a cliff because why not.
I’m not even gonna lie; I’m psyched for this movie. I’ve been a fan of Mission Impossible since the beginning (part two is my favorite) and I’m amazed that the action still holds up after all these years.
Check the trailer here and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading.
