Do you notice how quickly we’ll forget our accomplishments, but we’ll hold onto every single failure we’ve ever committed since the day we were born?
Have you ever noticed that you feel most like a failure as you’re about to accomplish something?
No joke: I had someone tell me how they felt like a fake as they were driving into the job they hated.
Because some people will decide that it’s too hard, and give up.
Some people will stay in a situation that makes them miserable because their fear of the unknown is overpowering.
Some people will never take the chance on a better life because they don’t believe they can do it. They let the bad voices win.
If you’re writing a story, programming a game, composing a song, or doing any other sort of creative endeavor, you’re going to stumble. You’re going to get worn down. That’s almost inevitable.
But that doesn’t mean that you don’t belong where you are.
That doesn’t mean your endeavor is garbage.
That doesn’t mean that you are a failure.
It means that you belong where you are, and stepping over that intangible negativity to reach the objective is your last, big test.
Good luck.
Thanks for reading.
